happy halloween

I'm running on very little sleep today because I went to show cave lastnight to see White Ring! I have to say that is was one of the best shows that I've been to all year! I have so many pictures to upload and post later today. But as of right now all I want to do is lay in bed, watch spooky movies, pig out on halloween candy and watch that new zombie show on amc called "The Walking Dead". And with that, I'll leave you with a clip of that CRAZY witch - Christine O'Donnell.

star hugger

(thrifted planet shirt, Forever 21 leather shorts)

Leather shorts really do go with everything! They are a simple way to make even a plain tee look fancy. Another awesome thing about leather shorts is that they are very movable so you can still run around and have fun. Hence these photos. Nothing is more fun then posing with random exercise equipment placed randomly in a yard right when it is about to rain!!!

obsessed: L'oreal - Stroke of Midnight

I have been wearing this nail polish all month. To me, the dark ox blood color is a more grown-up version of black.
I think that this is THE perfect nail polish for fall.

Vintage Inspiration: Captain EO

All I will need is a cool studded futuristic tattered looking white leather jacket, some ripped clothes and a fuzzy orange flying cat/butterfly- like thing and I'll be good to go.

obsessed: Yes To Carrots!

So I've been obsessed with this line for awhile now and I fell like I really need to spread the word!!! This is the BEST skin-care brand that I have found (it's even better then Aveeno!). The name of the brand as a whole is Yes To Carrots! but they also have Yes To Tomatoes, Yes To Cucumbers, and Yes To Blueberries. Each one has their own purpose, carrots nourishes your skin, tomatoes clears your skin of pimples, cucumbers soothes your skin, and blueberries is anti-aging. But they don't only focus on face care, they also have sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner, lipgloss, and body wash among a whole list of other awesome things. Oh, and did I mention that EVERYTHING is made with organic fruits and vegetables combined with minerals from the Dead Sea!!! This brand is amazing and with the most expensive thing being only $14, it is well worth the money. So give Yes To Carrots! a try - I bet you will be glad that you did!

too much

Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. The other day I went to Ben & Jerry's with my friends and I ordered this monster of a thing. What was on it was one huge chocolate brownie, two scoops of coffee ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and rainbow sprinkles. I thought that I could handle it. But once again, my eyes where bigger then my stomach.

20.

(Forever 21 shirt, Silver pants, Rocket Dog flats)

So today I turned 20. It's not that big of a deal considering that nothing much really changes at this age - except for the fact that you're not a teenager anymore. Birthdays are fun though. Hopefully family members send money in cards and hopefully you can spend it on new clothes to revamp your closet. If this happens to you on your birthday I highly suggest buying basics. Basics never go out of style because they are what always makes a great base for a new trend. White, black, grey and neutrals NEVER go out of style. So stock up!!!

Wishing...

My friend Renee found this dress at pixiemarket.com and it looks so close to the dresses from my post about Picnic at Hanging Rock! Too bad it's almost $300. It's very rare when I want to actually MAKE a dress from scratch, but this one I think I will try to duplicate. Sometime this month I will go down to the fabric district (when it's not pouring down rain) and pick up some materials to attempt to make this gorgeous dress!

The Flaming Lips and HEALTH in Oakland

- The Flaming Lips

- HEALTH

So over the weekend I went to Oakland (busted knee and all) to go see HEALTH play with The Flaming Lips. And I have to say that it was one of the best shows that I have seen in awhile. HEALTH even played a brand new song- a remix of their friend Pictureplane's song "Goth Star". It went over amazingly and the whole crowd, including myself, loved it! After they played, The Flaming Lips went on (I missed the beginning because I was downstairs and it took me forever to want to try and walk back up) their set was amazing, the special effects were spectacular, and they are some of the nicest guys ever. The last song that they played was "Do You Realize" and during that they shot confetti into the crowd. I don't ever think that I've seen that much confetti in my entire life!!! I got footage of it but it sounds terrible on my speakers - MAJOR bummer!!! Anyway, the night was amazing, the show was amazing, and I still can't believe that I was there.
